February 2, 2017

Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies [MACP] announced that Elizabeth Sullivan has been promoted to Managing Program Director. In this position, Elizabeth will oversee grantmaking in the organization’s Quality of Life domain, along with continuing her oversight of MACP’s Operations function.

Elizabeth joined MACP in 2013 as Director of Operations and Directed Giving. In her expanded role, Elizabeth will oversee the build out of strategies for the Quality of Life domain, which includes grantmaking that supports children, families, and aging adults at vulnerable stages. In her Director of Operations role, Elizabeth will continue her leadership regarding the organization’s grantmaking processes and practices.

“As our grantmaking has expanded over the past several years, Elizabeth has been a valuable leader in many critical areas at the Philanthropies,” remarked Terry Meersman, VP of Programs at MACP. “Her passions for our mission, combined with her rich experience in so many aspects of grantmaking, make her the ideal candidate for this new senior leadership position.”

Prior to joining the Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies, Elizabeth served as Vice President of Community Investment at Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan and held multiple positions at the Kresge Foundation in Troy, Michigan.
