July 26, 2026 — A story from CBS Sunday Morning focused on the Aging in Community program at North Dakota State University (NDSU) Extension in Fargo, ND.
Lee Cowan, national correspondent with CBS News Sunday Morning, visited North Dakota in 2025 with a team and produced the story that ran over this past weekend. It brings forward the voices of older adults and their perspectives on aging at home, particularly those in rural areas.
“Our clients are saying that they have a higher quality of life, that they feel more confident living at home, that they feel more connected to resources locally,” said Kyla Sanders, one of four regional coordinators for Aging in Community. “Those are three really big things for us.”
The Aging in Community program at NDSU Extension in Fargo is supported by funding from Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies through its Aging program within the Quality of Life domain.
