Supporting Minnesota Communities in Meeting Urgent Needs

February 11, 2026

Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies is proud to support charitable organizations in Twin Cities neighborhoods and rural communities in Greater Minnesota that are doing essential, hands‑on work to meet urgent needs across the state.

Working with local community foundations, we have committed nearly $4 million in the past two months to charitable organizations in Minnesota that are supporting immigrant communities and others across the state who need immediate help keeping food on the table, staying safe and warm in their communities, and finding legal assistance for their families.

We are deeply grateful to our local community foundations across Minnesota who make this support possible, including The Minneapolis Foundation, Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation, and the six regional Minnesota Initiative Foundations: Initiative Foundation, Northland Foundation, Northwest Minnesota Foundation, Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation, Southwest Initiative Foundation, and West Central Initiative.

At MACP, our grantmaking focuses on long-term funding relationships within defined program strategies across the country and around the world. We are also a Minnesota neighbor, and this local funding reflects our shared values: caring for one another, showing up for each other in hard moments, and working to bridge across differences.
