Our Hiring Process

Shared mission and values. Inclusive and inviting hiring.

We are a team of diverse individuals working to make a difference together.

Initial Screening

Note: This is intended to provide general process expectations; however, MACP reserves the right to make modifications they deem to be necessary.

  • Applicants submit: (1) a resume that demonstrates what skills and experiences (either professional, academic, and/or volunteer) that tells us how you are prepared for this role and (2) a cover letter that help us learn about your interest in MACP and why now is a good moment in your career for this position. Applications should be submitted following the directions on the individual posting.
  • Our hiring partner (search firm) or staff will screen all applicants on a rolling basis until the role is filled. Replies will be sent to all applicants about whether they are proceeding within 4-6 weeks.
  • MACP hiring partner or staff will hold 1-2 phone or video call(s) with candidates being considered.

Interviews

  • We will invite 4-6 candidates for first-round interviews with the hiring manager and a representative of Human Resources. These 60-minute interviews will focus on skills alignment and experience related to the role.
  • 2-4 candidates will take part in second-round interviews with a cross-section of 8-10 staff members from MACP, in 4-6 hours of 30-45-minute conversations that focus on skills alignment (with team members in the open position’s department) and on culture and values (with potential teammates and colleagues from other parts of the organization).
  • 1-2 top candidates may have a final interview with the hiring manager.
  • We will ask finalist candidate(s) for references.
  • We discuss specific start dates for each role, to take the candidate’s needs into consideration.

Candidate Preparation

  • At each interview stage, we offer the opportunity for candidates to ask questions of our team and invite those questions.
  • We recommend that candidates thoroughly review the job description prior to interviews, to consider the types of questions that might be asked about their experience. It is also helpful to review the MACP website to understand our values and culture.
  • All interviews are currently being conducted via Zoom, but when we return to the office, second-round and final interviews will take place on-site at The Preserve in Eden Prairie, MN.
  • The interview process takes approximately 6-8 weeks.
